Description
Situ Qi (1907-1997), whose name was Xiefen, was named Cangcheng, a native of Gui Yuli, Zhonggu, Chikan Town, Kaiping, Guangdong, was the second-generation famous painter of the Lingnan School of Chinese Painting. A beginner in Western painting, at the age of 22, he joined the “Spring Sleeping Painting Academy” founded by the father of the Lingnan School of Painting, Gao Jianfu, and transferred to Chinese painting. Situ Qi is the father of contemporary painter Situ Naizhong, and his cousin Situ Qiao, a famous modern oil painter, and Situ Zhaoguang, a famous cousin sculptor, are known as “Three Situ in One City”.
